Insertion Sort Example
Given Input: 1 7 2 8 5 3 9
This figure shows the insertion sort strategy. For each iteration , compare two elements and swaps out the elements.
Totally 7 numbers are given. So
Total no of passes needed = n-1 = 7-1 = 6 passes
In this example , insertion sort takes place according to the descending order. From this example , Black shaded area indicates the sorted part of array , because , insertion sort iterativelarrange the elements in sorted order.
