RESOURCES FOR MULTIMEDIA DEVELOPERS

7. Experience

Experience in developing multimedia products cannot be substituted.

  1. Finding others to mentor and help to develop the skills.  Some mentors may be looking for new developers who are willing to work and learn.
  2. Adapting the current skills, such as word processing or using a video camera, to multimedia skills.  For example, graphic artists may want to start using multimedia authoring tools to develop applications based on their own digital art.
  3. Trying new tools and techniques.  As new technologies and tools come on the market, buy them and start developing the own applications.
  4. Taking on a project for free to demonstrate the ability and skills.
Continuing to learn by reading books and magazines, looking at new technologies and asking questions.
